The #1 Rule That Changed My Business (And My Life)

And how to implement it.

Let me save you a decade:
If you can't say it clearly, you can't do it clearly.
And if you can't do it clearly, you won't get results.

I’ve built multiple businesses. I’ve helped others do the same. And if there’s one rule that has made me money, saved me time, and protected me from dumb decisions, it’s clarity.

Let me explain.

Most People Are Just Guessing

If you don’t have a framework for decision-making, you’re gambling. Period.
You’re flipping a coin and hoping things work out.

But business doesn’t reward hope. It rewards predictability.

When you can:

look at your inputs → tie them to behaviors → then connect those to outputs

you get control. Control gives you power. Power gives you leverage. That’s how you scale.

So here’s the rule I live by:

"Clarity over everything."

What Is Clarity, Really?

Let’s define it. Because most people talk about “clarity” like it’s a vibe. It’s not.

Clarity is a probability exercise.
Here’s what I mean:

If you say something to 100 people, how many of them will interpret it the way you meant it?
That percentage is your clarity score.

Say it to 100 people.
1 person gets it? You’ve got 1% clarity.
All 100 get it? That’s 100% clarity.

Now flip it inward:
When you think something, how often does it translate into the action or outcome you wanted?
Same game. That’s your internal clarity score.

Why Does This Matter?

If you’re not clear with yourself, with your team, or your customers, you create friction.

Friction kills speed. Speed kills progress.

Every time someone misinterprets what you meant…
Every time you misunderstand what you want…
You lose time. You lose momentum. You lose trust.

And worse? You don’t even know why. You just feel stuck. Confused. Frustrated.

So you blame external stuff. But it’s not that. It’s you. It’s your lack of clarity.

How To Build Clarity (3 Steps)

Want to fix this? Here’s how:

1. Start Listening… Really Listening
Before you speak better, you need to hear better.
Train yourself to catch when people are being vague. Ask:

“Can I clarify what you meant by that?”
Force alignment. Every time you do, you reduce friction.

2. Write Stuff Down
Thinking feels clear. Writing makes you prove it.
Put your thoughts on paper. You’ll see how fuzzy they actually are.
If you can’t write it clearly, you don’t understand it deeply.

3. Practice Relentlessly
Listen for vagueness in real-time from others, and yourself.
Fix it on the spot.
It’s like avoiding a swamp.

Vagueness is the mud. Clarity is the path. Stay on the path.

Yes, it’ll annoy some people. That’s a good thing.
You’ll filter out the ones who like ambiguity because they hide in it.
Keep those who want truth, precision, and results.

Final Word

Clarity isn’t a soft skill.
It’s a competitive advantage.

If you get 10% better at saying exactly what you mean and making sure others understand it, you’ll get to where you want to go at least 10% faster.

Don’t leave your life up to chance.
Be clear.
