You're building features nobody wants.

I was there too.

Last month, I got random feedback on GolfWink from developers, customers, and some guy on Reddit.

All noise.

Then I talked to one person. My exact customer. Someone who actually cares.

Result?

5 new features I know will add value.

Here's the thing everyone gets wrong: More feedback isn't better feedback.

Wrong feedback sources:

  • Random people who don't buy

  • Developers who don't use your product

  • Friends being nice

Right feedback sources:

  • People who pay you money

  • People who match your ideal customer profile

  • People who care enough to give real input

I spent months building stuff nobody wanted. Wasted hundreds of hours.

One conversation with the right person gave me a roadmap.

The difference? He has the problem I solve. He pays for solutions. He uses products like mine daily.

Action item: Find one person who perfectly fits your customer profile. Talk to them for 30 minutes. Ask what sucks about your product.

Build what they tell you.

Skip everything else.

That's it.

Ben

P.S. The wrong feedback sounds helpful. The right feedback hurts. If it doesn't sting a little, you're talking to the wrong person.
