Bored or Pivot? Picking Next Steps

Keep going! It only takes one pivotal “yes”
Personally, I prefer to consume content over audio. Even when I read, I listen to the corresponding audiobook at 2x speed because it helps me retain information. So here’s an audio version of me reading the newsletter, just in case you’re the same way 🙂
(Watch out for) External pressure that distracts and derails, not the internal pressure that can drive you to overcome everything.
✏️ Feedback: Tell Me More About You?
📈 Lesson: Cashing in Too Early

This week, I decided to close my group down.
The main reason is, I was trying to take a shortcut. The value I can provide to someone is always going to be a subset of what I know. Since I don’t know so much, I will always have to be ultra selective when picking members. And when people outgrow the scope of my expertise, I will be left in the dirt.
What will I do instead? I will be working on building my own startup. Something that I can really sink my teeth into, something that will let me make mistakes, learn, and grow.
Deciding to pivot is a bet.
There is no “right” way to tell if you’re making the right choice. And since there’s also no way to undo the choice, I think the right thing to do is pick the option that helps you sleep at night, and keeps you going for longer.
Right now, I am betting that the person I become after spending 10 years building a different kind of startup will mean I have a bigger platform to launch in the years that follow.
10 years building a startup + 5 years building a community
VS
15 years building a community.
I believe I will last longer and build bigger with the first option.

15 years grinding away VS Building a foundation, then rocketing up
I’m excited to do this. I feel less like a fraud, more like someone that can bring real value to the world. Stay tuned!
🔗 Software: Linkedin Automation Chrome Extension
I have sent out over 10,000 Linkedin invites in the past year.
I am thankful for this tool - it has literally saved me hundreds of hours.
If you do any networking outreach, give this one a go!
What’s Next?
I’ve been talking to businesses around the world to see if my next idea has any legs. If you’re a SME founder who’s feeling out of touch with your customers, hit me up!
That’s all for now!
A shorter one today, I hope to get back to you with more concrete lessons next week :)
Cheers,
Ben
